Scripture: Mark 8:31-38 Sermon: “Take Up Your Cross” How can Christians say that Jesus died “in our place,” taking the punishment we deserve, when Jesus himself calls upon his followers to “take up your cross?” And how can a loving God insist upon such a horrible punishment for his own son?
